New Years Eve Blue Moon

Moon worshippers, romantics and fans of the Sky's will be celebrating tonight as more than just the start of a new year for tonight is a very special New Years' Eve. For those lucky enough to be in an area of clear sky this December 31st will witness a Blue Moon.






So what is a Blue Moon, you ask. Well, first of all, a Blue Moon is not called a blue moon due to a colour change. More simply, a Blue moon is more of an astronomical anomaly where two full moon's occur within the same calendar month.

Superstition has it, wishes made on a Blue Moon will come true, particularly those made on a New Years Eve Blue Moon. So if this is the case, what would you wish for this historical blue moon?
