Ashley Dupre's Boss Pleads Guilty

The boss of the hooker ring that took down Eliot Spitzer pleaded guilty to prostitution and money laundering Thursday, but he won't have to dish dirt on the former governor.

Israeli widower Mark Brener's plea deal doesn't require him to cooperate in pending grand jury probes.

He faces 24 to 30 months in prison when sentenced Sept. 16.

"My client was not involved in any way in that investigation, nor was he asked to participate," lawyer Murray Richman said.

Dressed in a blue prison outfit, Brener told Manhattan federal Judge John Sprizzo how he convinced women to cross state lines to engage in acts of prostitution.

"I knew that my involvement with this ring was wrong and illegal," said Brener, 62.

Brener's plea lacked the drama of girlfriend Cecil (Katie) Suwal's court appearance last week when she confessed to similar crimes. The 23-year-old New Jersey prepster faces 27 months in prison.

Brener is the third member of the Emperors Club V.I.P. to plead guilty.

Hooker booker Temeka Lewis is the only one who agreed to cooperate in any pending probe.

Lewis spoke by phone to Spitzer, identified as "Client 9" in court papers, to arrange his pre-Valentine's Day tryst in a Washington hotel with hooker Ashley Dupre.

Brener could be released from his Manhattan prison cell on $250,000 bond before sentencing.

Brener's call girl ring charged well-heeled clients as much as $5,000 an hour. The feds seized $600,000 in cash from his home.
