Ex American Idol Judge, Paula Abdul, may not be that bad off after leaving her long stint, as the "nice judge" at American Idol. According to reports, ABC's entertainment president Steve McPherson would "love to have" Paula Abdul on Dancing With The Stars.

In addition, So You Think You Can Dance Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe said earlier this week he would love to have Paula Abdul on So You Think You Can Dance and was scheduled to meet with Paula Abdul this weekend to talk about the possibility of Paula Abdul being featured on So You Think You Can Dance.

As for American Idol, they seem to be fairing ok with the loss of Bubblegum Judge Paula Abdul. Recent audition replacements for Paula Abdul's seat on American Idol include ex Pop Tart Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice. Other Paula Abdul sit-in's include Katy Perry who will take Paula Abdul's seat while American Idol producers search for a replacement for Paula Abdul.

According to reports, Paula Abdul, and her new management team, rejected a 30 percent pay raise at American Idol for the unemployment line. Perhaps with these new Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance offers popping up, this may not have been a bad business move on the part of the ex pop-tart Paula Abdul.

If Paula Abdul does, in fact, ink a deal with producers of So You Think You Can Dance or Dancing With The Stars (or Both), it is unclear whether Paula Abdul will appear as a Guest, a Dancer, or a Choreographer. Whatever the case, you can be sure she will demand a high pay cheque for the stint.

On Friday People quoted an unidentified source saying the couple, who had been dating for about a year, were back together. "They care for each other. While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves," the source told People.

Representatives of Brown, 19, a clean-cut teen idol whose hits include "Run It!", declined comment on the reports. Rihanna's publicist did not return calls seeking comment. Los Angeles prosecutors have yet to decide whether to file charges against Brown after his arrest on February 8 on suspicion of making criminal threats against a woman.

The alleged assault on the eve of the Grammy Awards caused both stars to cancel their scheduled appearances. Brown issued a statement a week after the incident saying he was "sorry and saddened" and seeking counseling.

Speculation over Paterson's choice reached a frenzy over the weekend after reports that Caroline Kennedy, daughter of assassinated President John F. Kennedy, had phoned to discuss the position. Paterson said Monday that Kennedy had called him and "asked a few questions," but dismissed other reports as "gossip." "And frankly, this is a serious issue which I think is starting to be
treated as some sort of reality TV show," he added.

A senior adviser to Clinton, Philippe Reines, said she would not comment on her possible successors. "This is entirely Governor Patterson's decision and we're respecting the privacy of his process," Reines said.

Queens native, Fran “the Nanny” Drescher has her eye on Hillary Clinton’s soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat!

The former TV star tells NY Magazine why she is a qualified candidate:

Fran isn’t the only high profile female perhaps interested in filling the Senate seat. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., said recently that Caroline Kennedy was interested in the Senate seat that would become open if Sen. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg gave a boost to Caroline as a possible Senate candidate, saying she is experienced and “can do anything.” Her cousin, If that happens, New York Gov. David Paterson would appoint someone to the seat for a two-year period, after which they would have to run for election, and then for a full term in 2012.

While the two women are easily the most famous contender for Clinton’s Senate seat, there are plenty of others. New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is widely known in the state. Paterson could also pick Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown or Nassau County Executive Tom Suozzi.

Fran Drescher is looking to take her famous Queens accent to a new home – the U.S. Senate, that is. Fran Drescher tells PEOPLE she's offering up her name as a replacement for Senator Hillary Clinton, who has been nominated as Secretary of State. New York Gov. David Paterson must find an interim to fill the remaining two years of Clinton's term.

"I'm a New Yorker. It's a part of the fabric of my being," says Drescher, 51. "It just seems natural to me to throw my hat in the ring." The ex-star of The Nanny isn't a political neophyte. In September, she was appointed a U.S. diplomat for health issues, and in that role recently toured four Eastern European countries.

A uterine cancer survivor, Drescher also has advocated cancer prevention and education through her Cancer Schmancer Movement, (named after her bestselling book).

While on the lecture circuit, Drescher says her fans constantly inquired about a future in politics. "It was one of the single most-asked questions: When are you going to run? Only second to: Is that your real voice?" Drescher says with a laugh.

Others who are rumored to be interested in the Senate post are Caroline Kennedy and Andrew Cuomo. So why should Fran Drescher be Paterson's top pick? "I would hope that he'd take into consideration that I'm a beloved New Yorker who gets the New York constituents probably as good, if not better, than any of the other people being considered," says Drescher, whose focus would be education and healthcare if tapped to fill the seat. Besides, Drescher says, "I never tried to lose my accent."

The American Idol Rumour Mill Starts

PAULA ABDUL has laughed off rumours new AMERICAN IDOL judge KARA DioGUARDI was hired to replace her, insisting the newest judge is her close friend, former roommate and songwriting partner.
Abdul admits even show boss Simon Cowell had no idea the pair were pals when he gave DioGuardi a job on the judging panel of the hit reality TV series.
But the singer is adamant Cowell has no chance of driving a wedge between them to create drama onscreen - because the pair have such a strong bond.
She explains, "This one has backfired on him. Ten years ago on a rainy day in New York a girl comes up and says, 'You're Paula Abdul. There's a signed thank you letter you wrote in my boss' office.' I asked who her boss was, and he was the president of Billboard magazine. So I invited her to lunch, and we wrote a song that day, on a napkin.

"It turned out to be the biggest song for Kylie Minogue ever (Spinning Around). It hit number one all over Europe. I then listened to her demos and told her to give two weeks notice and I moved her into my home in L.A., and we became the best roommates.

When asked how Cowell missed the fact the two were well-acquainted, Abdul quipped: "Do you think he thinks for one moment about anyone other than himself?"


They might not go home with a recording contract but Paula Abdul doesn't let any "American Idol" contestant leave empty-handed.

Each season she designs and distributes jewelry for the aspiring singers as a keepsake of their experience.

Beginning this month, Abdul's fans will be able to buy similar items on HSN.

"I pretty much wear my jewelry all the time now, but I end up giving it away," she says. "I'll take it off my wrist or neck and give it to someone who likes it."

Abdul has made jewelry since the first season of "Idol" in 2002.

Once she saw what the contestants had to endure from critic Simon Cowell, she wanted to do something nice for them, she says. "I wanted something the kids could touch and feel to remind themselves that their talent got them here."

She previously sold a limited jewelry collection on QVC. The new HSN Forever Your Girl line, which debuts Saturday, also includes handbags and other accessories, with a price range of $29-$200.

Among her newest pieces is a beaded leather cuff bracelet that will go to the female participants in the new season inscribed with a message to "reach for the stars."

Abdul says she's looking forward to welcoming her old friend and new judge Kara DioGuardi when the top-rated Fox show returns Jan. 13. "Hopefully she'll give Simon hell," Abdul says.

For the last seven seasons, I've kept myself in a tightly sealed cocoon when it comes to the American Idol rumour mill. First of all, Idol might have 36 semifinalists this year (instead of 24), and that new judge Kara DioGuardi falls closer to Simon than Paula in the critique department.



Interestingly, this AMERICAN IDOL season is rumored to have its share of contestants with connections to past Idols and other famous folks, as well as the typical smattering of almost-famous types who no one has actually heard of, but who'll generate oodles of outraged "that contestant's a ringer!" chatter once the show starts airing (Jan. 13, in case you missed the announcement). Among the alleged hopefuls generating internet chatter: Michael Castro (younger brother of season 7's awesome Jason Castro); David Osmond (nephew of Donny & Marie); Anna Kaelin (daughter of the vocal coach of season 7 runner-up and current chart sensation David Archuleta); Danielle Roundtree (AKA Miss New York, USA 2008); and former Geffen recording artist Joanna Pacitti.

To avoid heinous spoilerization of the 24 (or 36) semifinalists, how about Idol turns the semifinalist announcement episode (where contestants take the elevator of death up to the scary table where the judges sit) into a LIVE broadcast? Think of the heightened levels of suspense, the clenched jaws, the whitened knuckles, and the frayed nerves? And that's just for the viewing audience at home, to say nothing of the contestants! Who wants to start the petition?

So the news today seems to be a rumour brought on by the National enquirer. Apparently, this bastion of knowledge and truth has decided to go after Mel Gibson and his wife spreading rumours about them getting a divorce. Good Trends shows Mel Gibson Divorce as one of the top search terms.

The thing one needs to keep in mind is, The National Enquirer is now owned by the investment group, Evercore Capital Partners L.L.C., headed by former Deputy Treasury Secretary Roger C. Altman. Mel Gibson recently went on the attack with regard to the Jews. Is this simply a method of revenge, will the national Enquirer now be a tool to smite those who do not agree with the beliefs of the owner.

P Diddy to star in CSI Miami - He is also writing a movie for Sienna Miller

P. Diddy is to appear in hit US TV show 'CSI: Miami'. The rapper will play a federal prosecutor in two episodes of the crime drama, which focuses on Miami-Dade - Florida police department's Crime Scene Investigations unit - it has been confirmed.

'Entertainment Tonight', who broke the news of the music mogul's appearance on the show, revealed P. Diddy's character will have a conflict with David Caruso's character Horatio and his team "not only on a case, but also in their personal lives" in the episodes, to be aired in early 2009.

The musician, real name Sean Combs, is no stranger to acting and recently appeared in a theatre production of 'A Raisin in the Sun'.

He has also had roles in movies 'Monster's Ball', 'Made' and 'Death of a Dynasty'.

Paula Abdul Stalker Commits Suicide

A woman who authorities said once tried to become a contestant on "American Idol" was found dead outside the Sherman Oaks home of "Idol" judge Paula Abdul in a case police are investigating as a possible suicide.

Authorities identified the woman as Paula Goodspeed, 30, from Thousand Oaks. (Police earlier had said her name was spelled "Goodespeed.")

Goodspeed was found dead in a car about 6 p.m. Tuesday outside the house in the 3800 block of Beverly Ridge Drive.

"We are investigating the case as a possible suicide," said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office. The cause of death will not be determined until after toxicology tests are completed, he added.

A law enforcement source, who declined to be identified because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the case, said the woman was familiar to officials with the Los Angeles Police Department's threat management unit, which investigates stalking cases, but he declined to elaborate.

Miley Ray Cyrus Shuts Down Disney

Miley Cyrus' 16th birthday party was more boisterous than sweet. Cyrus celebrated the hallmark birthday at an over-the-top Disneyland celebration Sunday - even though she doesn't actually turn 16 until Nov. 23. The theme park was closed for the supersized soiree, which included a four-song performance by the teen queen and a fireworks display above Sleeping Beauty Castle and 16 giant inflatable candles.


"Miley is really hard to surprise," her father Billy Ray Cyrus said at the event.


Organizers estimated more than 5,000 people attended the special party, which cost $250 a ticket. On the event's purple carpet - that's Cyrus' favorite colour - the "Hannah Montana" star bragged that her parents bought her a new puppy for her birthday. What else does Cyrus want for her birthday? A new car? Perhaps a later curfew?

"My parents shut down Disneyland for me, so I'm good for a while," Cyrus said.


Cyrus' father opened up for his daughter with a few of his own songs, including "Achy Breaky Heart." His daughter donned a white ruffled skirt and jersey-like vest with "Sweet 16" printed on the back for her truncated concert. At one point, Cyrus boarded a boat in the park's Rivers of America and crooned such tunes as "Breakout" and "G.N.O."


Throughout the evening, several popular attractions, such as Big Thunder Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean, remained open to partygoers. Additional activities, like receiving a "Hannah Montana" makeover and playing the upcoming Disney Interactive Studios rhythm video game "Ultimate Band," were also made available to attendees.


Partygoers ogled celebrities roaming around the park throughout the party. David Archuleta and his entourage skipped the line to ride Space Mountain. Jennie Garth and her family ducked out before the fireworks display capping the celebration. Other stars in attendance included Steve Carell, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Heather Locklear and Demi Lovato.

Disney used the event to promote their upcoming "What Will You Celebrate?" marketing initiative, which encourages tourists to take "celebration vacations" with their families. Beginning in 2009, guests at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in Florida can gain free theme park admission on their birthday with a valid ID and proof of birth date.


Over at Disney's California Adventure, Disneyland's sister theme park, an entirely different celebration was occurring during the Sweet 16 event: the 11th annual Gay Days Anaheim, an unofficial gathering of gays and lesbians at the Disneyland Resort. Event producer Jeffrey Epstein said Cyrus' affair didn't conflict with Gay Days Anaheim.

Sacha Baron Cohen Crashes Run Way

Judging by the hand gripping Sacha Baron Cohen's interesting outfit, it's obvious he wasn't supposed to be on the runway Thursday at Milan Fashion Week.

Still, Cohen (embodied by yet another one of his alter egos, this time the overly flamboyant Austrian model Bruno) stormed through the Agatha Ruiz de la Prada show with a vengeance.

He strutted the entire runway before being escorted off, then detained by Italian police.

Maybe they should've just let him walk. His outfit was a tad ridiculous, but it blends in surprisingly well with everything you see during these over-the-top fashion shows anyways.

At one point Cohen opened his cloak to reveal various accessories strapped to his body, including a boot, a purse and a jacket. So really Cohen's outfit could be considered not only trendy, but useful. You'll always have an emergency set of clothes handy.

It's functional fashion. Just wait, this style will be all over the runways soon enough, and you'll be standing in line to buy boots you can strap to your belt.

CYNDI LAUPER Coaches the 2008 AUSTRALIAN IDOL Contestants

Eighties music icon Cyndi Lauper will appear as a guest judge on Australian Idol tomorrow after spending the week mentoring the singing hopefuls.

As expected, Lauper's visit to the reality television competition's judging panel coincides with an 80s-themed performance show.

The contestants will belt out their favourite hits, including daggy pop and power ballads, with one singer set to perform a Lauper classic.

While the show's producers are tight-lipped on who it is, they confirmed the song choice was made before Lauper's visit was announced.

"They will no doubt be feeling the pressure of living up to Cyndi's original, performing it in front of her on the judging panel," a spokeswoman said.

And the star herself will also perform a rendition of one of her best-known songs, Time After Time.

"I'm going to try and give only constructive criticism when I'm judging but who knows whether my mentoring is doing them good or killing them," Lauper said.

The eccentric singer has spent the past week talking to the contestants about their vocal style and offering some industry tips.

"I lost my voice early on in my career and I know the importance of warming up. I've told all the contestants that they are atheletes, and if your'e gonna lift a barbell, you've gotta warm up first.

"I think stubbornness and defiance is the key to longevity in this industry, so I hope all of the Idols take that away with them."

The Australian Idol performance show airs on Network Ten at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Cyndi Lauper was advised by doctors early in her career that she had damaged her vocal cords beyond repair. After sessions with a voice coach, she proved them wrong - and the iconic American singer is passing the lessons she learned to this year's crop of Idols.

The songbird, who performed at this year's Mardi Gras party, has returned to Sydney to be a mentor and judge on Australian Idol, as well as promoting her new album.

"I lost my voice early on in my career and I know the importance of warming up," she said.

Lauper, 55, has sold more than 25 million records worldwide, with hits including True Colours, Money Changes Everything and Girls Just Want To Have Fun.

She has also spent two days this week preparing the remaining 11 contestants for the 1980s-themed show on Sunday. One contestant was feeling the pressure more than most after choosing a Lauper song before she was named as a guest judge.

HILARY SWANK RECOVERING FROM HOSPITAL VISIT and TUMOUR SURGERY

Actress Hilary Swank underwent surgery to remove a benign growth, and the two-time Oscar winner is recuperating from the procedure, a spokesman said on Thursday.

"She was experiencing some discomfort and went to see her doctor, who prescribed an immediate course of action that included a brief hospitalization to remove a small, benign growth," the star's manager, Jason Weinberg, said in a statement.

"Her condition has been resolved, and there are no continuing health issues, with the exception of some short-term rest and recuperation," Weinberg said.

He declined to give further details on the procedure Hilary Swank went through.

Hilary Swank, 34, won Oscars for her roles in the 2004 Clint Eastwood boxing movie "Million Dollar Baby" and the 1999 transgender drama "Boys Don't Cry."

In "Soul Men," a rhythm-and-blues band reunites 20 years after their acrimonious breakup following the death of the band's lead singer. Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac play the group's two main members, while Isaac Hayes portrays himself.

The movie's plot, with battling egos, appears to resemble the relationship between real-life singers Sam Moore and Dave Prater. The movie's title comes from "Soul Man," one of the hit songs Hayes co-wrote for Sam and Dave.

Dimension Films is still set to release "Soul Men" November 14. But will moviegoers want to see a film which has so many morbid overtones?

Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong Take the Hot Box out on the road together

	Two of the most famous pot smokers of the 1970s, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, unveiled plans on Wednesday for their first comedy tour in more than 25 years following their acrimonious split. "Cheech & Chong: Light Up America ..." will hit 22 cities in the United States starting with Philadelphia on September 12 and ending in Denver, Colorado, on December 20. In between they will play Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, D.C. and other places. This is a moment that I've been looking forward to for many, many years because we have such a legacy and history together that we couldn't escape it, even if we tried," Chong told reporters at a news conference to announce the tour. Cheech and Chong were one of the most successful comedy teams of the 1970s with hit movies and chart-topping records based on their brand of marijuana-influenced humor.
"They were potheads who appealed to a youth generation steeped in personal freedom spawned by 1960s-era hippies. Marin said their humor about doing stupid things while being stoned on marijuana should still appeal to today's youth, as well as Cheech & Chong's older fans. "We've had the younger audience all along. Every time they get to that certain age, they go through that Cheech & Chong period of watching the movies, listening to the records. So, it's almost like a rite of passage," Marin said. The comedy duo said the tour will be theatrical and will rely on the sizable budget that Live Nation -- the company behind the tour -- can muster. When they toured early in their careers, the duo's props were a bag of used clothes, but the new tour will have large video screens to flash images on. As they discussed the tour, Cheech and Chong relied on some props in the form of synthetic marijuana plants to win some laughs, as Chong "watered" the plants with bottled water. Marin, 62, and Chong, 70, spoke about the tour to reporters at the Troubadour, a fixture on the Southern California club scene. Marin said as budding comedians, he and Chong waited in line outside the club for hours for the chance to perform. Cheech and Chong gained notoriety in nightclubs in the Los Angeles area in the 1970s and released their first album, "Cheech and Chong," in 1971. "Los Cochinos" in 1973 won the Grammy award that year for best comedy album. In 1978 their first movie, "Up in Smoke," proved to be a blockbuster, raking in more than $100 million at box offices. They performed together onstage for the last time in 1981, but continued to make movies and records.
	The pair split following the 1985 release of their album "Get Out of My Room." Chong said that their break-up -- which was well-publicized and bitter -- was caused by success. "What happens if you don't have big problems, like trying to make it -- when that's cured when you've made it -- then your little problems become your big problems," he said. "So you start fighting over stupid things." Marin carved out a career as a television actor in shows such as "Nash Bridges" and "Judging Amy." Chong also did a lot of TV work, including appearances on "That '70s Show." Chong has long advocated the legalization of marijuana, and in 2003 was arrested and later imprisoned for selling drug paraphernalia.
