12 Year Old boy Dies in South Carolina Halloween Shooting

The police chief in Sumter, South Carolina, is calling Friday's shooting of a young trick-or-treater "1 of the worst tragedies" she's ever seen.

12-year-old T.J. Darrisaw and his siblings were going door-to-door on Halloween, when a man with an assault rifle opened fire from inside his house. The boy died after at least 29 shots smashed through the front door and window frame. The boy's younger brother and father were wounded.

T.J.'s mother remembers him as a wonderful boy who was always helpful around the house.

Police have filed murder and other charges against 22-year-old Quentin Patrick, a felon with multiple drug convictions. A man who identified himself as Patrick's brother says Patrick may have been suffering from post-traumatic stress after being shot during a robbery last December.
