Alyssa Milano files temporary restraining order against “fan.” LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actress Alyssa Milano has sought a temporary restraining order against a Northern California man who she says hiked miles to try to reach her.

A statement from Milano says the man has repeatedly tried to meet her and displayed increasingly threatening behavior. It also says he tried to gain access to an upcoming event where she is scheduled to appear.

Milano also is seeking protection for her parents and brother.

A hearing is scheduled for January.

Milano is best known for her roles on television series such as "Who's the Boss?" and "Charmed."

According to E!, actress Alyssa Milano filed a request for a temporary restraining order against a 54-year-old man who attempted to break into her Los Angeles home on two occasions. Milano called the man, Jeff Turner, an “obsessed and mentally unstable fan,” according to court papers obtained by E! News. Turner has also made repeated attempts to contact Milano over the past two years.

Milano has also requested that her parents, Tom and Lin Milano, and her brother, Cory Milano, be protected by the temporary restraining order. Turner has been ordered to stay 100 yards from Milano and her family’s homes, workplaces, and vehicles. There will be a January 21, 2009 hearing on the temporary restraining order.

Milano is currently reprising her role as Billie Cunningham on the NBC series, My Name Is Earl. Cunningham plays title character Earl’s most recent ex-wife.
