3.0 Earthquake in Los Angeles

A minor earthquake occurred last night in the vicinity of Los Angeles International Airport, but there were no reports of damage, authorities said.

Caltech officials said the magnitude 3.0 temblor struck at 7:57 p.m. two miles north of El Segundo, which puts it in the LAX/Westchester area of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it received no calls or reports of damage after the quake.

A civilian police assistant at the El Segundo Police Department said she felt a slight shaking but received no calls from residents.
